My eternal thanks to Gaby for doing the beta on this huge epic, to Ursula for inspiring a crucial part of it, and to the dungeons of Warwick Castle in which the idea for this story was born.

I knew, even when writing this, that there would be many people who would automatically dismiss it as 'bad-fic' simply because it's so very AU.  The characters, situation and plot are so removed from the X-files that it can be argued that it is simply an original work of fiction that just happens to contain characters who look like Skinner, Krycek, Mulder et al.    To those people I throw my hands in the air, admit full culpability and invite you to flame me as you feel fit. I won't actually bother to read the flames, but it may make you feel better to vent regardless.  Alternatively, you could just hit your <back> button right now and save both of us a lot of grief.

I dedicate this story to those readers who want to escape into a complete fantasy for a while, who enjoy a ripping yarn for its own sake, and who enjoy the idea that the boyz they love have leading roles inside this story.

I sincerely hope you enjoy reading 'Faerie Story' even a fraction as much as I enjoyed writing it.
